Sellal calls on German operators to grasp investment opportunities in Algeria

BERLIN- Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal called on the German partners to grasp the “big”  opportunities offered by the Algerian economy, expressing the hope to raise the relations between the two countries to a stronger partnership.

In an opening speech of a joint press conference with the German Chancellor Angela Merckel, Sellal underlined the “great” investment opportunities in all the sectors that offer the Algerian economy, marked by an important growth thanks to the development programmes launched by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

He invited the German partners to “seize the opportunities notably in the field of SMEs, able to contribute to the productive investment and the creation of wealth and jobs, transfer of technology and promotion of professional training.”

For Sellal, the Algerian-German business forum which was inaugurated this morning and which “was marked by a large participation of businessmen from both countries is one more proof which shows the two countries’ interest to develop and broaden partnership and investment opportunities.”

“Together, we hope to develop these relations in all the fields, including the cultural field where we agreed to conclude an agreement which will pave the way for a fruitful cooperation,” stressed Sellal, underlining that the two sides possess “common mechanisms of cooperation and dialogue and regularly meet on political, security and economic issues.”
