Algeria, Italy to sign several partnership agreements in industrial sector

 

MILAN- Algeria and Italy will sign during the bilateral economic forum, which is due to be held on Wednesday in Italy’s Milan, several partnership agreements in the industrial sector, Minister of Industry and Mines, Abdessalam Bouchouareb told APS, announcing that the 3rd high-level Algerian-Italian meeting will be held in late May in Rome.

Those MoUs will concern the creation of two Algerian-Italian joint ventures specializing in the production of electrical equipment and the manufacture of ceramics and sanitary products, said the minister, who started on Tuesday a three-day visit to Italy at the head of a delegation.

The agreements will also concern the creation of a company in partnership between the Tizi-Ouzou headquartered Algerian company of manufacturing electrical transformers “Electro Industries” and the company Terna Italia, which will specialize in the manufacture of large power transformers, says Bouchouareb.

 The two countries also plan the creation of an Algerian-Italian-Spanish joint venture specializing in the manufacture of ceramic products, between the Algerian public group Divindus, the Italian company Siti-B & T and the Spanish company Kerben.

For the minister, the Algerian-Italian Forum will be an opportunity "to present new opportunities for partnerships, to continue discussions on current projects and finalize talks the sufficiently advanced projects, including a project concerning the lead refining in Setif."

Bouchouareb leads a large delegation including officials from his department, heads of public and private companies and the chairmen of the various business organizations like the Managers Forum (FCE), the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA), the Algerian Confederation of Industrialists and Developers (CIPA), the Club of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists of Mitidja (CEIMI) and the General Association of Algerian entrepreneurs (AGEA).
