New initiatives for development of industrial sector

 

ALGIERS- New initiatives for the development of the industrial sector and the promotion of national production will be announced in the coming days, said Tuesday in Algiers Minister of Industry and Mines Abdesselam Bouchouareb.

In his address at a meeting devoted to boosting national production in the presence of several union organizations and the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), the minister said that many initiatives aiming at developing the industrial sector and the promotion of the national production will be announced during the National Exhibition of National Production, to be held from 24 and 28 December.

Bouchouareb also announced that a meeting that will be bring together the Tripartite working group in charge of the issue and all the social partners will be held during the exhibition.

The participants will discuss the mechanisms to set up and the proposals to be submitted to the Government, he added.

The minister also underlined the need to speed up the reforms and the political decisions taken as part of the 2015-2019 development plan.

In this regard, he stressed the importance of the contribution of the private sector, as generator of job opportunities and wealth, in the process of the national industry development.

For his part, UGTA Secretary General Sidi Said called to encourage private-private, public-public and public-private partnerships in order to boost national production.

The head of the General Confederation of Algerian Companies (CGEA), Habib Yousfi underlined the need to encourage Algerian consumers to buy national products.
